Surprising you with something new
Over four decades, Linda has championed brands Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe, Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander and Vetements. Linda’s eye and influence has changed the way we see fashion not just in Detroit, but around the world. Her New York store, which occupied Park Avenue for 25 years (closed in 2008), is still talked about in low-tones, amongst global fashion-fanatics, wishing it back into existence. But here in Detroit, we don’t have to wish. We don’t have to speak in whispers. We can walk around the corner, and experience a masterpiece, not found in any other corner of the world.
Fall Winter 2019 Style Notes
This fall the new rule is not following the rules. Go for what’s not expected.
Longer lengths in dresses and skirts are not just for the evening but great for day. A long cashmere skirt paired with a slouchy boyfriend sweater worn with a flat shoe is a winner look. Floral prints are no longer just for summer. Rich dark floral print dresses are a must-have item. Sometimes it’s two prints spliced together. Be a real rebel with white and silver accessories this Fall. Whether it be a handbag or a boot.
Sculptured jackets worn with an equally interesting shaped skirt or pant creates a new daring silhouette. Add an exaggerated sculpted earring to finish it off.
For those less daring a new soft tailored suit also looks fresh. Slightly slouchy in knit-like fabrics.
Corduroy has been kicked upstairs. A softer velvety hand helps dress it up. Corduroy can also be artisanal mixed with plaids and tulle.
Leopard is back. Leopard print short booties or a small structured handbag is the way to go this season.
This season… keep dreaming and do your own thing.
